  4. Canopy Climbing Collective

I’m liking the rope more and more.

  5. Charles Fowler

Had this for a while, used it quite a bit and really like it. In the rainy weather I really notice the water repellent coating, running it off the bollard it runs a lot smoother in wet conditions than other ropes. I can grip it and its not soaking my gloves. Doesn’t milk, hardly any marking whereas other ropes would be showing wear and tear by now. No curling and twisting. Outer sheath still as good as it was.

What is the main benefit of the Technaglide coating on Harkie rigging ropes?

The Technaglide coating allows the rope to operate more smoothly, whilst giving it outstanding water repellency and improved grip in wet conditions. It also reduces water intake.

Why should I choose a low-stretch rigging rope?

The low-stretch characteristics of the HeftyFlex rigging rope makes rigging operations more predictable and controllable.

What is the difference between minimum breaking strain (MBS) and working load limit (WLL)?

The MBS is the minimum load at which a product has been known to fail under test conditions. WLL, on the other hand, is the load value that that rope can be expected to handle safely in normal working conditions. Most rope manufacturers will specify a breaking strain rather than a working load, because MBL is a specific measurement whereas a working load is more relative, as there are various ways in which to calculate this depending on the scenario.

I have had my Harkie Smock for seven years. Worn every wet day and it has stood up to all the abuse of arb that I have thrown at it and it is still fully waterproof.
